  1. The sidebar's usable area is very small and also asks requires scrolling in it while finding for Higher level pages...
  2. Profile page link has given higher priority compared to the most used pages like Feeds, explore n all... Also due to this, it's eating space in the sidebar.
  3. Music Track thumbnail is so big and consumes unnecessary attention all the time. The placement of images in the sidebar makes it so difficult while navigating across different pages.
  4. A separation of menu, notifications, and profile can be done to give some breathing space in the sidebar which will help in improving navigations and discoverability of options.
  5. Fonts used for category headings are heavy font weights compared to the link of the page which is also disturbing the visual Hierarchy.

1.1 Solution

  1. Headings were used with lighter font-weight also the links are added with icons so the attention is directly moving to the links.
  2. Profile, Notifications, and menu are also removed from the sidebar so that the primary pages should be focused more.
  3. The music track thumbnail is also removed from the thumbnail so
  4. Instead of +NEW added simply + icon which simply communicates and eliminates a lot of chaos.
  5. The logo is colored which also gives a good visual balance as well as encourages people to click on it to land on the homepage.

  1. The search bar which is one of the hygiene of the product is not very intuitive and mostly blurs out when on top of some dark cover photos.
  2. When a user clicks on the search option his intention or goal is to search for either a track, profile or album but the system doesn't recommend any he has to type all and look at things. Also same is with the search history which is not collected.

  1. Another issue with the Search option is when you search for a track clicking on the same doesn't play sound I have to go into the track page and click on play. This in itself is generating extra clicks to achieve a simple task. one for going inside and going back.

2.1 Solution

  1. The search bar is extended and made even prominent.

  1. Clicking on the search opens a popover below the search menu by also extending the search field. This also blurs out the background so the attention is not divided and focus is maintained while achieving a particular task.
